Telehealth Available

Telehealth consults are available from Monday March 30 2020.  You can book an appointment time and one of our GP’s will call you back for a consult over the phone or by video consult.  Please phone: 9398 7388 for an appointment or book online.

Following recent Medicare funding changes to Telehealth consults – if you are a new patient, or existing patient who has not attended our practice in the last 12 months, an upfront fee will be required to be paid prior to your phone/telehealth appointment.

Please keep in mind:

We’ll make every effort to book you with your preferred time and Doctor.

If your preferred Doctor is unavailable we will offer you a time with another Doctor.

A longer consultation time may be needed if you have more than one health issue to discuss with your Doctor. If you are unsure please talk to our friendly reception team for advice.

  • Emergencies will take priority, we’ll contact you if there are delays.

Bulk billing

If you have a valid Medicare Card the majority of our services are Bulk Billed.

Please inform reception when booking an appointment with your GP if you are booking an appointment for:

Motor Vehicle (ICWA) claims
Workers Compensation Claims

These items are not covered by Medicare and we require payment on the day until liability has been accepted by the insurance company.

Some other procedures may incur a fee including:

  • Medical for a Drivers Licence
  • Insurance reports
  • Pre-employment medicals
  • If Medicare doesn’t cover for that service.

Please advise reception when booking if your appointment is for one of the services listed above.

Schedule of fees

Our Fee Schedule is available at reception. Fees may vary due to the length and complexity of a consultation and are determined by the individual doctor.

Non Medicare patients are charged a fee determined by the Doctor.

Allied health providers

Allied Health Providers may charge a fee. Please check with reception for fees.

Please pay any outstanding fees on the day of consultation and can be made by Cash, EFPTOS, Cheque or Credit Card (excluding Diners).

Workers Compensation

Workers Compensation patients please provide a claim number each time you present for a consultation. Any outstanding payments will have to be made by the patient for them to claim with the company insurer.

Please let our reception team know if you would like to discuss a medical matter (and how urgently you require a response) with your GP over the phone by calling (08) 9398 7388.

The Doctor’s at HealthSense Gosnells are available during normal surgery hours. If your Doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and our reception staff will advise your GP of your call. Your Doctor or reception staff will return your call.

After Hours

Our after-hours medical service is provided by The Australian Locum Medical Services (ALMS), please call 13 26 60.

Home Visits

Home visits can be made by prior arrangement only through reception and are at the discretion of your Doctor. Home visits are conducted within 10km range.

Getting Results of Tests or Procedures

Results of any kind will require an appointment.

Results are NOT given over the phone or to a third party.

Results are normally received within 2-3 working days.

Reminder System

We are committed to preventative care. Your GP will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system.

We may issue you with a reminder notice, phone call, text message or email from time to time offering you Preventative Health Services appropriate to your care.

If you do not wish to be part of this system please advise your GP or Reception Staff.

If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, we request that you contact us to change or cancel your appointment time within a minimum of 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.

A fee will be charged for failure to attend your appointment or cancel at short notice.

Your Rights

If you are concerned about any aspects of the service you receive at HealthSense Gosnells, please address the Practice Manager or your Doctor to discuss your concerns.

You may prefer to write to us or use our suggestion box. We believe problems are best dealt with the practice. However, if you feel the need to discuss the matter outside the practice, you may contact The Medical Registration Board, AMA or Health and Disability Services Complaints Office.
